When it comes to reef fishing along the Florida coast, live bait usually works best. Things like shrimp, pinfish, pilchards, and sardines are really popular because reef fish find them hard to resist. If you do not have live bait, frozen squid and cut bait like pieces of mullet or bonito also work really well. It depends on what kind of fish you are trying to catch. Snapper, grouper, and amberjack all love fresh bait. Some people also like using jigs and soft plastic lures if they want to try something different. But honestly, if you stick with fresh, natural bait, you will have the best chance of getting bites.
